“Seeing animals in their natural habitat – that was unforgettable. In Zambia, I even got to see a rhino. A zebra is a black animal with white stripes. I didn’t know that! Everywhere you look, you just can’t help but smile! I’d never been that close to an elephant either! No fences, nothing. My tent was just 50 – 60 metres from the elephants’ watering hole. You go to sleep thinking, ‘What if they decide to come this way?’”

“Pieredzēt dzīvniekus viņu dabiskajā vidē – tas bija neaizmirstami. Zambijā man izdevās redzēt pat degunradzi. Zebra ir melns dzīvnieks ar baltām strīpām. Es to nezināju! Kur vien skaties, tur jāsmaida! Tik tuvu, bez nožogojuma, arī nekad nebiju bijis zilonim! Mana telts bija 50 – 60 metrus no ziloņu dzirdinātavas. Ej gulēt un domā – “vai viņi te izdomās iet?””
