Full moon is full moon even in the ocean, and it likes to play tricks. In our case, the tricks are headwind and headcurrent. One night we put out the sea anchor and in the morning found ourselves 5km closer to Namibia not Rio. Tonight the current was much stronger and our constant attempts to row West resulted in getting even further East.
Nevertheless, we decides to continue rowing. The treacherous wind and current made it almost impossible to stay on course. As a joke, Gints started to look for a tree to tie the boat down. For approx. 14 hours we were rowing and not going anywhere – I have to say, it was very inspiring moment.
Now the wind has turned from a more favorable direction and we are moving West again.
