On the Independence day of Sri Lanka I started my 500+km bicycle ride!
There is few things you do, when you do a Human powered circumnavigation of the world:
1. Do at least 40K km (I’m close to that )
2. Cross all meridians (a bit more than 1/6 left)
3. Be sure to find anti-podal points on Your journey. Classic anti-podal point is North Pole to South Pole. Of course, any point on the world has anti-podal point! It happens that mine anti-podes are in Sri Lanka, close to Putalama. Guess what is on the opposite side of the globe? Yup, it is South Pacific with my doted line there 😀 Now I’m cycling to “pick them up”.

Šrilankas neatkarības dienā sāku savu 500+ km velobraucienu!
Ir dažas lietas, ko jūs darāt, kad veicat pasaules apceļošanu ar cilvēka spēku:
1. Nobrauciet vismaz 40 000 km (esmu tuvu tam)
2. Šķērsojiet visus meridiānus (atlicis nedaudz vairāk par 1/6)
3. Savā ceļojumā noteikti atrodiet pretpodālus (antipodu) punktus. Klasiskais pretpodālais punkts ir no ziemeļpola līdz dienvidu polam. Protams, jebkuram pasaules punktam ir pretpodāls punkts! Esmu pašlaik Šrilankā, un mana maršruta pretpola punkti ir netālu no Putalamas. Uzmini, kas atrodas zemeslodes pretējā pusē? Jā, tas ir Klusā okeāna dienvidu daļa ar manu punktoto līniju 😀 Tagad es braucu ar ričuku, lai “paņemtu/pieskartos” pretpola punktiem un atpakaļ uz laivu 😉 .
