Bored of Borders

The morning started early and at 4:30 I was already full speed. In the mornings, albeit a little, but there is coolness here as well. The jacket even had to be pulled on šŸ™‚ The boat sliced water smoothly and steadily, as soft as a gift in the intermediate finish.

A coast guard boat was waiting for me at the gate of the Bay of Galles. They waved friendly and showed me the way. They had gone so far that they could even get tired while I was moving in the direction of the port, but they spent all the way. Behind the port gate, on the shore, I saw a bunch of people with phones and cameras recording my arrival. I mean – really?! They had really come to greet the traveller with the oar boat! A chain of fresh flowers and 3 coconuts were brought ashore, 2 of them I drunk ā€œnot leaving the box officeā€ šŸ˜€ Especially today came from the capital, Colombo, the Chairman Export Development Board, Suresh de Mel, who ran the whole parade, then resolved all the documents and then said privately to me, ā€œKarlis, You are a guest of Sports Minister Hon. Namal Rajapaksa here in Sri Lankaā€. How I was lucky to meet this sincere gentleman, I will tell you very soon, but this is a very interesting thing!!!

Latvians who are currently living in Sri Lanka, took care of the fantastic surprise by gathering in such a large crowd. You are fantastic! My sincere thanks, and as I promised, I will mention everyone in the book when it comes šŸ™‚ 1278 nm or 2366 km a month from Kuala Perlis, Malaysia to Galle, Sri Lanka.

The horizon is swinging a little and I’m dizzy from this first stage, which was quite challenging and even until yesterday morning I wasn’t really sure that the port of Galles will be reached. It was clear at Dondra point and only had to be experienced in reality!

Viņi tieŔām bija atnākuÅ”i sagaidÄ«t ceļotāju ar airu laivu! Izkapjot krastā dāvāja svaigu ziedu virteni un 3 kokosriekstus, no kuriem 2 izlaku “neatejot no kases” šŸ˜€ Speciāli Å”odien no galvaspilsētas Colombo bija atbraucis Chairman Export Development Board – Suresh de Mel, kurÅ” diriģēja visu parādi, pēc tam arÄ« atrisināja arÄ« visus ar dokumentiem saistÄ«tos jautajumus un pēc tam man privāti pateica: “Karlis, You are a guest of Sports Minister Hon. Namal Rajapaksa here in Sri Lanka”.
